Travel stories: Panama.

Santa Catalina, Panama. A subway ride, two planes, two buses, a taxi, 27 hours and a million miles away from New York City. (Read: complete & utter unrivaled bliss. So in other words, WORTH it.)

Visit...Coiba National Park and snorkel with sharks, turtles, reef fish and poisonous but placid sea snakes

Eat...Fresh fish & crays caught by local fishermen and sold on the beach each day. Freshly baked olive bread from Juan's La Panaderia

Pass through...Casco Viejo in Panama City for crumbling colonial ruins, markets and more Panama hats than you can shake a stick at

Listen...Van Halen's 'Panama', of course

Drink...Cuba Libres and plenty of them

Surf...The point or beach break at Playa Estero

Stay...Luxurious it aint. Stay in one of the beachside accomodations and in the true spirit of adventure, expect blackouts and water shortages. Washing? That's what the sea is for!
