Colour pop
Sunday, April 10, 2011 This season's runways were an explosion of tangerine, cobalt and fuchsia, and for a serial beige lover like myself I'm not sure where to begin. Mixing colours requires serious effort and sartorial dexterity, and I'm yet to be inspired by a suitable pairing for the orange Michael Kors shift I bought recently. What goes with orange?! For now it sits incongruously next to tonal shades of caramel and the palest salmon pink- I'll stick to standing near bright walls for my colour fix whilst I work it out.

I totally feel you on the beige coloring! Orange would look great with salmon...you could also try azure too.
aqua marine or a pop of neon green go amazing with orange I think!
Great back drop to the photo!
Lovely!!

I'm a basic color girl too but pop colors are so fun in summer! I've already tried them and once you begin you can't stop! Anyway, you look great in this ivory colored dress!

This background is perfect for such a minimal ensemble! Love that you chose to go all black on top to really highlight that fun and flirty skirt...Would love to see either a bright blue like turq or crimson red with that Orange Kors...Can't wait to see what you come up with Lucy!...I'm sure it'll be a treat :D

I am so the same way. I have had to start out with patterned skirts with basic tops and work my way into combining colors. like getting into a hottub. kinda.
Totally with you - when it comes to wearing colours a happy background still seems the best option. Great outfit and wonderful picture!
I resonate completely. I actually just posted about my color aversion and constant wearing of black and neutrals. Though, am also being challenged to trying out some color with all this color blocking in the air. It is quite bold and lovely....just difficult to make the leap.
p.s. I'm enjoying your blog very much. It's inspiring. Just discovered it.
I love your Blog! I was reading the comments too, wow where I live I hardly ever hear people talking about what to wear and colors like this. I'm so happy to have found it.
I wanted to ask about the boots, I've trying to find something like that for a while now, what would that style be called?
Thanks for this wonderful blog! :)
Those boots are my absolute favorite!
