FABRIC INSPIRATION

I've learned recently that in times of sadness, you have to focus on the small things which bring happiness and light relief, even if in doing so feels a little apathetic. For my mum and I, relief comes in the form of hours spent trawling fabrics shops, clothes shops and activities that don't generally require too much thought investment.

Yesterday we went on a buying trip in search of some fabulous silk fabric to transform into summer kaftans {the amazing weather and the latest Sex and the City film has us believing this is all we shall need for the coming months}

In the past three weeks, I've found comfort deep in the pages of Vogue, beautiful editorial images have been honey for the soul. I was thinking earlier how easily fashion is dismissed as frippery, and fashion blogs can appear self centered, egocentric even. Silly as it may sound, this blog {I wanted to delete it at first} has not only been cathartic to write, but given me a reason to care about what I look like every day.

It's also given my lovely mum a crash course in DSLR photography. And for someone who used a film camera up until two years ago and for whom texting still eludes, she has quite the eye for a photograph.

You know (and please take this the right way) to look at you nobody would imagine what you've been going through. I mean that as a compliment :) I'm really glad that you have the chance to be with your family and give all of you the opportunity to begin healing together.

Hi! I just found your blog and love it already! I like that your style is different from the usual minidress&high heel combo most fashion bloggers sport!
I love that H&M shirt! I have been looking for something similar for ages! did you get it recently?

Just found your blog and I am loving it! Were you shopping for fabric in London? If so would you be so kind as to let me what shops or area of town you were shopping in? I have not been able to find any good, reasonably priced fabric stores in London. Thx! jenniferj1s@yahoo.com
