Sequins

Liza Minnelli in florid sequins aside, I love a bit of sparkle. For his winter 2010 collection, British designer Ashish Gupta created enough dazzle to impress the most seasoned Olympic male ice skater including sequin-imitation cable knit v-necks and plaid shirts.

I found this skirt at Beacons Closet with the original eye-watering price tag still attached. It also had hideous hem trim, which I promptly hacked off. Unfortunately seamstress skills never were my strong point, and now whenever I wear it a trail of sequins follow in my wake.
