ONE WEEK IN

Shorts: Topshop, vest: H&M, belt: vintage, shoes: Nine West, necklaces: Marc Jacobs, and vintage from Esty, watch: vintage

One week since arriving: the intolerable heat, the fact my feat are perpetually black, the lethally strong cocktails {no measures here!}  mimosas at brunch and the sheer amazing-ness of this city, New York I love you.

NOT LONG TO GO

I met Vanessa Jackman at fashion week when she was taking amazing street style photos and I was reporting for Glossy Magazine. We bonded over a shared love of London {and a mutual dismay Brisbane restaurants take last orders at 9pm!}

We narrowly missed each other recently in London {she's been jet setting to various fashion weeks- watch out for the photos!} and she posted today a really nice and encouraging note on her blog wishing me good luck for the move.

The decision to still move to New York following a family bereavement has been one of the hardest, and possibly selfish, I think I've ever made. Leaving behind family, friends and familiarity is a massive step. Despite a mind full of what ifs, I'm going and I'm {apprehensively} excited about it too. To quote Mark Twain {one of his many gems} "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do."

THE LAST FEW

Weekend inspiration: a few left over pictures I took at fashion week. The last shot would look a whole lot better had the subject got her eyes open but hey!

STUCK IN THE MIDDLE

{Accessories: vintage, skirt: vintage from Absolute Vintage in London, top: H&M, belt: vintage shoes: Sportsgirl, glasses: Rayban}
Off to London later on today, the last time before I leave for New York next week. Next week! I am halfway somewhere between insane excitement and complete dread!

STOLEN HOLIDAY {LES PETITES VACANCES}

{Sandals: Lilley & Skinner, dress: Uma and Leopold, hat: vintage, agate stone necklace: made by my extremely talented friend Christie Nicolaides, other accessories: vintage}

Further south, as Chanel revealed the couture collection in the Grand Palais in Paris {sans the signature lBD, and under the watch of a giant bronze lion, a replication of a statue from the Rue de Cambon apartment of Coco Chanel }  I stole my own little piece of France. Four days of arching blue skies, too much fromage, red wine and French Vogue; I almost didn't want to come home.

{You're} MAKING ME BLUSH!

{Trousers: vintage, shirt: Zara, shoes: Nine West, glasses, Rayban, accessories: vintage}

You know how sometimes you are inexplicably drawn towards a shop because unwittingly, inside is the perfect item you've always been looking for? Well, perhaps that's just me and my extrasensory perception for shopping {read, shopping addiction}  but this blush silk shirt I found recently in the Zara sale is my new favorite thing. It goes with everything I own, including these little gold numbers I have been wanting to wear for ages, but never had anything that looks quite right with them.
